A Journey Home

No one understands the meaning and purpose a home can instill quite like Kian Pornour. Before settling in Seattle 40 years ago, he lived in Europe and was an interpreter and an advocate for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). His personal experiences with homelessness and the perseverance to solve them have made him a passionate professional when it comes to finding a home and shelter. For the past 15 years, Kian has put his skills and experience to work as a Managing Broker and Branch Manager with Windermere.

He and his team are dedicated to helping clients find their homes - whether it's a fixer-upper for first-time buyers or multimillion-dollar luxury property. A savvy marketer offering concierge-level service; Kian is a brilliant representative when it comes to selling properties as well.  He has a straightforward communication style and an emphasis on client education and honest approach. Kian can tailor the real estate experience to best fit your needs. When he's not busy working directly with clients, Kian is dedicated to the training, education and support of the brokers in Windermere's flagship office. In his role as branch manager, Kan works hard to coordinate the experience and growth of his brokers, keeping them up-to-date on current housing market trends and the cutting edge of best practices in real estate.

Public Service | Community Involvement

The need for affordable housing and solving the issues of homelessness is a passion for me. I am on the board of The University YMCA, where with the generous help from the Windermere Foundation, I am advocating for afterschool programs for vulnerable and at risk youth. I am also advocating a holistic approach to publicly involved projects. I was on the design team for the cultural diversity project "Blocked Out" at University of Washington and am closely co-operating with Professor John Young ( U of W school of Sculpture and Public Art ) on "Up in the Air" ongoing art project . I was also one of the driving forces behind The Studio Front Project; a project designed to beautify the business store fronts and building facades, by accessing local government grants, Architecture students at University of Washington(headed by Professor Jim Nickels)and business owners.
