I was introduced to Sue through a family friend in the real estate business who recommended her as a trustworthy, proactive, responsive, and knowledgeable agent. I would agree with all of these and add patient to the list. Over the year we worked together, I got more and more specific about the house I wanted within a 8 x 10 block area of NE Portland. First and foremost, I appreciated her honesty and dedication to these crazy requirements I had, as well as her solid knowledge of houses and the NE market. She showed me about 40 homes that one of us found, and many of those she helped me reject shortly after we walked in the door because they didn't fit my stated criteria. She's also knowledgeable about the negotiation and contracting process. I ended up making two offers, both with plenty of competition. For both, she coached me through how to best structure offers, the content of personal letters to the owners, and how we should best negotiate to maximize the chances of winning the bid but not overpaying. Also important when you're doing 40 walk-throughs with someone is that she has a great personality and sense of humor -- plenty of laughs over the 100+ hours I spent with her this past year. In Feb of 2019, my second offer was accepted and I couldn't be happier about the house, and the reasonableness of the price.

Let us be direct: Susan is amazing. When she helped us find our home she not only did her utmost to search within our specifications, she spent tons of overtime to filter the list for us before we saw anything, to protect our time. She was extremely prompt and on top of it, and yet she took the time to sit down with us for breaks and coffee to re-strategize when we needed to. We had our child in the hospital during our search, and she was very flexible with our schedule.
