My Approach

I approach my job as a broker as that of a consultant and educator. I explain the many steps of the buying and selling process and provide my clients with what they need to know to make informed decisions. My strength working with buyers is combining a knowledge of Seattle housing types and neighborhoods with the ability to listen and draw out from my clients what they want in a home. As a listing broker, I excel in helping clients prep their homes for the market by recommending what work will get them the most bang for the buck and managing the improvement projects. At times, I put on my gardening gloves or pull out my tool box. For small houses and condominiums, I stage them myself. For larger homes, I bring in professionals. I generally offer complimentary staging.

Experience and Education:

I began selling real estate in Seattle in 1996 and left in 2000 to ghost-write marketing materials for real estate brokers and be a stay-at-home mom. I went back to working as a broker at the beginning of 2015. I enjoy the camaraderie and collaborative approach of the Mount Baker Windermere office. I studied geology at a small Quaker college, worked for 5 years in the recycling industry, and am a published author. My book, City Goats, about my life as an urban goat herd and activisit, was published by Mountaineers' Books in 2012. I am currently working on a story about non-elite Kenyan marathon runners.

Personal

During my years away from real estate I founded the Goat Justice League, a community organization that successfully lobbied to change Seattle’s zoning laws to allow small goats. Today I maintain a backyard farm in Madrona that includes two mini-dairy goats, three hens, one working cat, and a pug dog. I am a member of the Seattle Running Club and love running. I live with my husband and teenage son. I am a huge fan of the world's fastest marathon runner, Eliud Kipchoge. His motto is my motto. "Be honest, live simply, and work hard."
