John is a third generation Montanan and a 1985 graduate of the University of Montana, school of business. He has been in real estate since 1990 establishing Windermere Real Estate in 2004. John has served the Missoula real estate community well and was president of the Missoula Organization of Realtors in 1996. John also served MOR as the chairman of Professional Standards for 23 years beginning in 1997.  He has also served the Missoula community well and was the recipient of the “George Award” for outstanding community service in 2013 and the “Bill Bouchee Award” in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He was also awarded the “Most Outstanding Volunteer Award” by the Western Montana Fundraisers Association in 2018 and received the “Ray T. Rocene” Award for his volunteer efforts in support of athletics and sport in the Missoula area in 2022. Some of the organizations he has helped include the Missoula Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC), the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce (Chairman of the Board 2011), The Missoula Chamber Ambassadors, Missoula Youth Interest Group and the Missoula Family YMCA (Board Chairman 2021, 2022). John has been married to his wife (Kathy) for 40 years. They have two children (Tarah 35, Brett 34) and six grandchildren (Finn, Anders, Helli, Soren, Grady and Johnny). Windermere Real Estate has quickly grown to be one of Missoula’s most prominent real estate companies under John’s leadership.
