Where did Everett, WA get its name?
During a dinner party in New York, in 1890, Henry Hewitt was in Charles Colby's home as they were planning an ambitious project to build an industrial city on the Puget Sound. During the dinner, Colby's son asked for more dessert. Hewitt laughed and said, "That's it. We should name our city Everett. This boy wants only the best, and so do we."
