What makes Everett a unique place to live?

Everett is a surprisingly old city with many historical buildings and great views of the Puget Sound, the Olympics and the Cascades. Downtown Everett is in the north and centered around Hewitt Pacific Ave, and Colby Avenues, featuring plenty of food and entertainment options. The overall Everett footprint is much larger with many retail and restaurant operations also found along Everett Mall Way. Major Highways running through Everett include I-5, Highway 2, Highway 99, plus State Routes 526, 527, 529, and WA-96.

What is the commute from Everett like?

The Everett to Seattle commute is 30-45 minutes depending on time of day and traffic. The commute to Bellevue is similar. Everett itself has many employers, with Boeing being one of the largest. So large it has an affect on local traffic (typically 3pm is a busy traffic time). Other major Everett employers outside of Boeing include: Everett Clinic, Fluke, Fortive, Funko, PUD, Sound Publishing, Tulalip Tribes, the US Navy and many aerospace companies which support Boeing's efforts.

Where did Everett, WA get its name?

During a dinner party in New York, in 1890, Henry Hewitt was in Charles Colby's home as they were planning an ambitious project to build an industrial city on the Puget Sound. During the dinner, Colby's son asked for more dessert. Hewitt laughed and said, "That's it. We should name our city Everett. This boy wants only the best, and so do we."
