What makes Seattle a unique place to live?

Where did Seattle, WA get its name?

Seattle was named after Chief Seattle (Seattle was an anglicization of Si'ahl or See-ahth). Chief Seattle was the leader for the Duwamish & Suquamish Native American tribes. He was born on Blake Island in the 1780s and was accommodating to white settlers. Seattle pioneer Doc Maynard is credited with convincing others to name the town after his friend, Chief Seattle.
